Barnet is a wonderful place with its beautiful parks and green spaces, and its leafy suburbs. We know how much residents value all of Barnet’s green spaces, so protecting them is one of our top 5 pledges.

We will protect the Green Belt, our parks and our green and open spaces. We will not build on them.

Below are some of our other key pledges on green spaces, and you can find more details in our full manifesto:

We will make sure everyone has access to green space, working towards zero neighbourhoods deprived of green spaces.

We will grasp woodland and rewilding opportunities, planting trees and tiny forests where residents support this.

We will scrap the Conservatives’ ‘low quality, low value’ category of green spaces. All green spaces should be valued.

We will work in partnership to deliver proper protection of the Welsh Harp, and a robust boroughwide biodiversity strategy.

We will support the Barnet Green Spaces Network Manifesto, and work with them to deliver it.
