Barnet schools are more than twice as strong as the national average.
The figure was revealed for the meeting of Barnet’s Labour cabinet on Tuesday 15th September.
From September 2025 to August 2026, 13 Ofsted inspections found that over two thirds – 68% – were judged as ‘strong’ or ‘exceptional’, compared to a national average of 27%.
The inspections follow another set of outstanding GCSE and A level results in the borough. 41 per cent of GCSE results were higher grades (7 and above) this year – almost double the national average of 22 per cent.
Meanwhile, 40 per cent of A level results were a or A*, more than one third higher than national results of 28.5%.
Councillor Pauline Coakley-Webb, Barnet Labour’s cabinet member for Family Friendly Barnet, said: “The borough’s schools are the pride of Barnet and continue to provide our children with a great education. I want to thank all the teachers, non-teaching staff, pupils and parents who make their continuing strong performance possible.”
