Cllr Barry Rawlings, Leader of Barnet Council and Barnet Labour, said:
“I welcome the arrests of suspects in connection to the arson attack on Kenton United Synagogue in Harrow. I also welcome the Government’s confirmation yesterday of an additional £5 million in funding for police protection.
“Although not in our own borough of Barnet, the Kenton incident continues the pattern of despicable antisemitic attacks on the former Jewish Futures building in Hendon, Finchley Reform Synagogue and the Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green, which have caused significant anxiety to our own Jewish communities. We are dedicated to our part in bringing perpetrators to justice and to help ensure our Jewish residents feel safe again. ”
“Any member of the public with information regarding any of these attacks should contact police on 101 providing reference 1685/15APR, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or CST on 0208 457 9999.”
