Trade Unions continue to raise concerns with councillors about the availability of PPE for care homes and care workers. Labour councillors have raised the issue in weekly conference calls with senior council officers.

Leader of the Barnet Labour Group, Cllr Barry Rawlings said:

“The Council are clear that they have sufficient PPE for all care settings and staff for some weeks, with a regular and reliable supply for the future. Any shortage of PPE should therefore not be happening, and if it is, it is imperative that the details are provided to the Council so they can provide the necessary equipment. We have been encouraging anyone with concerns to advise us of any specific examples regarding insufficient PPE in any care setting or for any staff. Where anyone tells us there is a problem, we will act to get the Council administration to sort it out. Please let us know immediately and we will take the case up straight away.”
