Barnet’s Labour councillors are calling for Conservative-run Barnet Council to drop a scheme to restrict access to and reduce space in some of Barnet’s parks, green and open spaces by building solar panel farms on them or installing electricity storage units in them. The forty-five parks, green and open spaces at risk are all on the Council’s ‘low quality/low value’ list – a category that was invented by the Barnet Conservatives to justify investing less money in some parks.

Stop building on Barnet's parks!

We the undersigned believe all parks, green and open spaces should be protected from any non-park related building or development. We therefore petition Barnet Council to scrap plans to restrict access to and reduce space at any Barnet parks, green or open spaces by building solar panel farms, expanding substations or building electricity storage units on them.
