Syrian refugees: Council publishes details of ways you can help

Following last week's meeting - requested by the Labour Group - with the Council Leader, representatives from the Labour Group and senior officers, Barnet Council has now published guidance for members of the public who want to help, volunteer or donate.

For the council's published guidance see:

We are waiting for further details of what else the council can do to assist, but are pleased to report that during a multifaith meeting with Finchley Progressive Synagogue this Sunday, the Council Leader also gave a tentative commitment that Barnet council would take 50 refugees funded by the EU, once government guidance for local authorities is announced, and subject to the council's decision-making process.
