Save North Finchley Post Office

Keep North Finchley Post Office open: please sign our petition.

The Government wants to close our Crown Post Office in North Finchley to re-locate to a smaller outlet outside of the main town centre. This does not serve our community at all. After the closure of the Finchley Central Office and the downgrading of the office in East Finchley, our Crown Post Office at Tally Ho has become even busier and not one day goes by when there aren’t queues of customers accessing the many services our post office provides.

The Crown Post Offices provide invaluable services to residents, particularly the elderly and disadvantaged. If the proposals are successful these services will relocate to smaller shopping outlets, which will mean a much reduced service and much bigger queues.

Barnet Labour are joining the fight to prevent these closures. Together with the Communications Workers Union (CWU) we are working on your behalf to keep this Post Office open. If you agree and would like to show your support please sign our petition.

If North Finchley isn’t your local Post Office, future attacks on services could include yours, so please join the campaign now.

Ridiculous to lose such a busy main post office

Our local post office is an essential service. It’s closure will affect the most vulnerable in our community – those receiving benefits, including pensioners, or those do not have bank accounts.

The other services provided are also valued (post, currency exchange, savings accounts).

Thank you for your attention to this.

This is a preposterous idea: I don’t even know where an alternative large post office is located, and for local elderly people this move will have serious consequences.

It would be such a great loss to the local (and not so local) people of and around North Finchley if the closure was to go ahead. Please do not close our Post Office, we need it more than you can ever imagine.

Why take something out when it is so well used.

What a joke!

The governments or Barnet councils idea of regeneration contradicts what the word actually means.

As knocking down loads of building for more retail spaces, when their are already quite a few empty premises, defys logic?!

Removing the Tally ho Post office will have catastrophic repercussions on namely the elderly.

There isn’t another local post office for miles.

What logic or thought if any has gone into removal of the bus station?

So we all have to stand on an already thin walkway,

On an extremely busy road, where you propose to permanently place this new bus stop?!

Absolutely absurd!

Someone who obviously doesn’t know any local knowledge has proposed this, as it makes no sense at all!?

Cannot comprehend this decision to close down the North Finchley Post office. It is ALWAYS busy and essential to the high street and the community. The high street needs rejuvenation not closing down essential services.

This makes no sense – one week there are events in libraries talking about rejuvenating N12 town centre, the next we’re looking at closures of essential community components to such town centres. What a mess. It needs stopping this one. PO, LBofB … whoever is responsible, sort your priorities out and make good decisions. Not crap ones.

I signed outside the Post Office , all our local Post Offices are closing down . Think about our community, my husband is now signing . Where do the weak , vulnerable and elderly people have to go especially if they can’t drive . We have depended on this Post Office for years .

This is a big post office with many useful services in a central convenient location for the whole Finchley community. It needs to be kept.

This is an excellent service, essential to so many people. If the economics aren’t working, expand it’s commercial sales.

Why close a busy and well positioned Post Office?
