Save North Finchley Post Office

Keep North Finchley Post Office open: please sign our petition.

The Government wants to close our Crown Post Office in North Finchley to re-locate to a smaller outlet outside of the main town centre. This does not serve our community at all. After the closure of the Finchley Central Office and the downgrading of the office in East Finchley, our Crown Post Office at Tally Ho has become even busier and not one day goes by when there aren’t queues of customers accessing the many services our post office provides.

The Crown Post Offices provide invaluable services to residents, particularly the elderly and disadvantaged. If the proposals are successful these services will relocate to smaller shopping outlets, which will mean a much reduced service and much bigger queues.

Barnet Labour are joining the fight to prevent these closures. Together with the Communications Workers Union (CWU) we are working on your behalf to keep this Post Office open. If you agree and would like to show your support please sign our petition.

If North Finchley isn’t your local Post Office, future attacks on services could include yours, so please join the campaign now.

There is nothing bad about this Post Office in North Finchley , it serves a lot of people in the area as it should do and poses no threat to anyone or any other business as far as I can assertain . When " the powers that be " closed the large Post Office in Finchley Central , I had to use the Sub Post Office further down the road , thank goodness it was there , then at one point in the past it closed for around 2 years , leaving only North Finchley & Golders Green as options for my post . Who knows what impact closing the North Finchley branch will cause ? Probably a cascade effect like it did in Finchley Central

Although living much closer to Temple Fortune or Golders Green, I visit the post office in North Finchley as staff there are so friendly and efficient. I was shocked to hear they are planning to close it.

North Finchley Post Office is an essential part of my online business. Closure or a smaller, less efficient branch would most likely cause me to close my business down. They are a fantastic service, great staff, a nice modern interior with all the services the local community needs. Closure would be a huge backwards step and considering how packed it always is I have no idea how that quantity of clientele could be served elsewhere.

North Finchley Post Office is a vital part of the high street. It would be a travesty and mistake for it to be moved.

Moving the post office would be an inconsiderate and selfish decision by the Crown Post Office

Older community, and less mobile will suffer with the move. New venue too small. Not as accessible. No seating Inexperienced staff. Less services. Long queues. Selling lines in direct competition to other local traders. Move lacks consideration for local community.

Another decision made without any thought on the impact on the community and elder and vulnerable adults who rely on this critical service. Keep our post office!

Is very useful for the elderly people that don’t know how to use the internet, and it’s the best office in north London, it’s not right to close it.

This is disgraceful. They should feel ashamed of themselves for even suggesting such an idea. How can the smaller post office cope with that volume of people? Shame on you.

The Crown Post Office in North Finchley plays an important role within the community and should be saved from closure.

I’ve lived in Woodside Park .N12 for over 30 years and regularly use it .

To move it to smaller premises , up the high street makes no sense .

The range of services offered in the new place will obviously be limited and with more And more banks closing , people are being actively encouraged to use the services of the post office , so it should stay open.

I’m going to contact my MP , Theresa Villiers .

The proposed location is far too small, is further still from where I live, and I can find no information, besides company incorporation documents, on the business that is due to run the new premises: this does not inspire confidence.

The post office works very well where it is with good space for waiting and seating for those who struggle with mobility. The new proposed location would not offer the same experience.

Very concerned that the company commissioned to run the services are unknown & won’t provide a good service for local residents. Plus the current post office is always busy – this is nothing more than cost cutting!
