Land Charges

Land charges are a source of income for the council, and include fees for land searches and planning applications. Land charges could increase after privatisation.

This is a demand-led service, so the more development there is the higher the income the council receives.

Under 'One Barnet', instead of the surplus income being retained by the council to pay for our public services, it will go to a private company for their profits.

Does this make sense?
