Colindale councillors invite Police Commissioner to visit Grahame Park

Colindale's Labour councillors have invited Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe to visit the Grahame Park estate following comments from Matthew Offord, MP for Hendon, that the Grahame Park estate is a no go area for police.

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe held a road show in Finchley on Monday 1st February at which Cllr Nagus Narenthira questioned the Police Commissioner about Matthew Offord's statement on the Politics Show. The Police Commissioner seemed concerned about this statement and said that he would like to visit the estate in person to see what it is like.

Cllr Narenthira said: "I'm delighted that the Police Commissioner said he would like to visit Grahame Park as the estate would benefit from an allocation of more resources.

"It would have helped if the local MP had done something constructive to help Grahame Park, an area he represents, rather than just making a public derogatory statement about the estate on a TV show. Hopefully he will now support our calls for the Police Commissioner to visit."

Ends.
