Stop the cuts to the 384 bus route!

We support better public transport in the capital and the Mayor's campaign to combat air pollution caused by car usage near schools.

We note that the 384 is a popular route serving residents of Cockfosters, East Barnet, New Barnet and High Barnet, and is an important transport link to Barnet Hospital, JCOSS and other local schools, New Barnet and High Barnet stations.

We therefore call on Transport for London to reconsider and reverse a planned cut in the frequency of the 384 bus route, from 15 minutes to 20 minutes, and the removal of the extra bus serving the JCOSS school run.

I use the 384 on a daily basis.

The 384 covers several areas in Barnet which are not served by any other bus routes.

Any cut in service levels will cause disruption & inconvenience to commuters and school pupils, as well as residents visiting Barnet Hospital.

While the Planning Department insists on squeezing new homes, flats and residents into every corner of New Barnet, there is a growing needs for reliable public transport. Reducing a service is irresponsible in the current environment.

This is a bad move. We should be encouraging use of public transport not reducing services. Many commuters and school students rely on the 384. This will make their lives harder when life is already tough enough. Why are they making these changes now when I thought we are expecting a TFL review of services. Seems like it’s a back door move.

This bus route is essential for many students, and workers in the Barnet area. Cuts to the route would result in longer working/school days, more people hanging around and waiting, and generally result in a less productive borough.

I frequently use this bus for travelling to and from work at JCoSS school, as do many of my pupils. It is a vital transport link. Please keep the service as it stands in place and help to avert increased car traffic in the area!

Why reduce a popular route, resulting in increase in cars in already congested areas and challenges for working parents to get their kids to schoo.

An excellent community bus service connecting many of the important regular destinations that many less mobile and elderly residents use daily. The proposal may appear insignificant to the able-bodied, but offers a prolonged wait at the many unsheltered bus stops along the route.
